Bridges to Social Justice Academy

CSJ seeks mentors to serve in the Bridges to Social Justice Academy (BSJA) for high school students through the Georgetown Summer High School Sessions.

For BSJA mentors (GU students), program training begins on June 1 and the position runs through at least July 18, 2026. The mentor role includes an option for on-campus summer housing from May 31 to July 18, 2026.

BSJA mentors (GU students) will have the opportunity to grow their leadership skills, mentoring skills, and learn more about social justice issues and frameworks in Washington, DC. You will guide high school students on learning the Bridges to Social Justice and Social Change Model of Leadership Development frameworks and participate in experiential and community-engaged learning activities in Washington, DC.

Volunteer and Federal Work Study (FWS) positions are available. The position is about 30-35 hours/week in the planning weeks and 35-40/week during the academy itself. During the planning weeks, hours are variable; past mentors have taken GU classes or also engaged in non-GU part-time internships concurrently in the mornings.

The Bridges to Social Justice Academy has an option for on-campus summer housing, free of charge, through CSJ from May 31 to July 18, 2026.
