Immigrant Justice (IJI) Advocacy Coordinators
The Immigrant Justice Advocacy Team is born out of the DC Schools Project to focus on im/migrant justice advocacy in the Center for Social Justice in response to the bussing of migrant families from Texas and Arizona to DC. The im/migrant justice advocacy team serves DC’s low-income newcomer im/migrant youth and their families in partnership with local grassroots migrant justice and mutual aid organizations. The Immigrant Justice Advocacy Coordinator will be engaging in opportunities to gain professional and practical skills in community organizing, coalition building, case advocacy, and advocacy teamwork. The program emphasizes developing frameworks and practice rooted in social justice, critical consciousness-raising, and centering community as it connects at various intersections of immigration/migration.
