Professor James Slevin Engaged Scholarship Award
The Professor James Slevin Engaged Scholarship Award recognizes a community-based learning (CBL) course, co-curricular pedagogical initiative, or research project that successfully integrates learning objectives with community collaboration and solidarity while promoting student engagement with fundamental social justice issues and uplifting community voices. This award recognizes Professor James Slevin, who passed away in 2006. Professor Slevin was a faculty member of the English department, directed the Program on Justice and Peace, and was the inaugural Director of the Office of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the CSJ.
