CSJ Education Week

In collaboration with diverse campus and community partners, CSJ coordinates Education Week to raise awareness about both the challenges and celebrations within the current field of education.

ALL WEEK, November 7 - November 11: Donate used or new Legos to the Center for Social Justice Lego League groups in Ward 7's Nalle and Plummer Elementary Schools. Drop off to CSJ in 130 Poulton Hall. See STEM AFTERSCHOOL for more information about these programs.

Monday, November 7

4:00pm - 5:30pm: Girls Education - Local to Global Perspectives. Leavey Center Program Room (across from the GU Bookstore).

Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day)

8:00pm - Midnight: Election Watch at the Center for Social Justice (130 Poulton Hall). Come by the CSJ for snacks and stress relievers as we watch Election Night coverage.

Wednesday, November 9

11:00am - 5:00pm: Election Reflection and Tutor/Coordinator Appreciation at the Center for Social Justice (130 Poulton Hall). Come by the CSJ for snacks and conversation about the 2016 Election. 

Thursday, November 10

6:15pm - 8:00pm: CSJ Workshop - Working with Trauma-affected Youth in Reiss 112. with Vivian H. Jackson, Ph.D., LICSW, Adjunct Assistant Professor and Senior Policy Associate at Georgetown University's Center for Child and Human Development.

Friday, November 11 (Veterans Day)

5:15pm-6:30pm: Reflection Dinner in Healy Family Student Center Social Room. Education Week culminates with a reflection dinner and informal discussions among Georgetown University faculty, staff, students, alumni, and DC community members about the future of issues in education. Maggiano's dinner served.
