Through Community Social Justice Bus Tours, CSJ creates an opportunity for Georgetown students, faculty, and staff to learn about and experience the unique social justice history of Washington, DC. Deeper awareness leads to greater understanding between the Georgetown University community members and DC residents. During the Community Tour participants acquire:
- information about DC’s unique neighborhoods and diverse populations;
- contacts for community organizations visited and highlighted during the tour;
- a nuanced image of DC’s underserved communities, through an emphais on their assets and challenges; and
- resources for how to get involved in community-based service and research.
If you are a faculty member or community member interested in developing or leading a tour with a particular focus, such as health disparities, gentrification, or food culture, please email CSJ's Executive Director, Dr. Andria Wisler.
